David is a resourceful engineer originally inspired by flying machines and by learning how early designs evolved into their modern forms. He likes to observe our designed world and question why things are the way they are, how they got to be that way, and how they could be improved.
Currently, David works in Austin, TX as a mechanical engineer supporting the development of electronic products for airborne military platforms.
Previously, David has worked as a quality engineer supporting production of electromechanical actuators for industrial legged robot application, and in the development and production of low volume space/airborne EO/IR systems. Such systems may be found in LEO acquiring surface imagery for commercial entities, monitoring nuclear missile launch sites, demonstrating capabilities of inter-satellite lasercom terminals; or aboard the F-35 helping pilots successfully acquire targets.
Outside of engineering, David enjoys playing music in local community ensembles, cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, climbing rock and ice, and flying small planes.
